Neither console systems nor pcs trump one another; they each offer a unique experience and serve their own purpose.

There are three major video game systems on the market. Although they are fairly similar in nature, each has their advantages and followings.

• Xbox 360
  The Xbox 360 manufactured by Microsoft, is the first of the next generation consoles to hit the market. • PlayStation 3
  Set to be released November 17, 2006, the PS3 is predicted to retail for $499 for the core system and $599 for the premium version. The premium version is due to include several game console accessories like a 60 GB hard drive, Wi-Fi capabilities and HDMI video output. There is some concern that the core will not be entirely upgradeable as well as whether or not there will be an adequate supply of the PS3 when it is released. The wand like television remote, allows gamers to experience game playing in an entirely new way. Simply switch the controller on its side, and it functions as a typically controller, very similar to the traditional NES game pad. The controller also the ability to accept additionally peripheral controller products, which opens the door to further innovation and unexpected advances. Unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360, Wii will not feature high definition out put capabilities. The Wii is also backward compatible, and offers players the ability to download games from previous systems dating back to the original NES and the Sega Genesis, giving the Wii an extensive playlist. It is rumored that the Wii will retail for approximately $300.
